HELLYN TENG

ABOUT

The future of fashion is interactive, accessible, and sustainable.

  • I'm a wearable technologist, front-end developer, and electronic musician working in the field of fashion + creative technology + sound. Inspired to make futuristic ideas into reality, I thrive in learning new technologies and in seeking the new possibilities that can emerge from this realm.

In 2017, together with Yuchen Zhang and Jingwen Zhu, I co-founded an NYC based fashion technology design studio, Wearable Media. Our studio innovates at the intersection of technology, design, and fashion, creating immersive, cutting-edge smart apparels that senses the world around you.

Our work has been featured globally and in publications such as The Verge. In 2018 our studio was selected as one of top 30 finalists for the LVMH Innovation Award. We are current members at NEW INC, a cultural incubator exploring new ideas at the intersection of art, technology, and design at the New Museum.

An avid tinkerer with analog synthesizers and drum machines, I can usually be found perusing technical manuals, programming sequencers, and composing music.
